MyFishGY

#MyFishGY is a large-scale community-creative project that aims to engage the local community in a digital creative collaboration. The first of its kind project invites the local community to create their own Grimsby fish in a medium of their choice. Using cutting edge technology never before used on a project like this, the fish will be digitally scanned by our creative technologists and brought to life to swim within a live-action virtual sea.

This spell-binding and beautiful projection of the virtual sea will be projected onto various iconic public buildings across the town for public viewing over several nights, transforming the architecture of the town.

Timeline photosHow exciting is it that our main festival site will be right by the water this year?

Part of our focus of #FoSea is focussing on our connection to the sea and our local rivers, how they have sustained our town throughout its history and continue to do this in the present and into the future. That’s why this year we will be located around the waterfront between the River Freshney and Alexandra Dock. This area, by the Fishing Heritage Centre is known as Heritage Square. We’re so excited to be offering various activities which bring us to the waters edge and even offering the chance to get into the river itself!
